Reloading is the process of reusing old casings to create new cartridges. The other 3 components (the bullet, the gunpowder, and primer) are exhausted during a shot and must be replaced. We offer classes and sell equipment and will gladly otherwise assist you in any way we can to ensure that your experience is safe, easy, and an economical solution for your ammunition needs.

Many people reload their ammunition in an effort to save money, recycle, resupply during times when ammunition is scarce, and also create ammunition custom-tailored for specific purposes such as varmint hunting. If you have any questions concerning reloading, feel free to call our Reloading Team at

Reloading Courses

How The Get The Most Bang For Your Buck
H&H offers a 3-step approach with our Reloading Courses:

 

Reloading Pistol 1

Prerequisites: none
Cost: $60.00 per student
Course duration: 3-4 hours
Supplies: All supplies provided in class.
Class size: 5-6

This reloading class is excellent for beginners, as well as those wanting to learn information on reloading. Taking this class can help you to determine if reloading is for you. This pistol class is divided into two parts.

The Lecture:
We will be covering a wealth of information with an emphasis on reloading safety.
We will cover cartridge components.
We will go over information in a load manual.
We will show you how to sift through the data in a load manual to select the relevant information for the cartridge you are loading, and much more.

The hands on loading:
Under the direct supervision of the instructor, each student will load his/her own pistol ammo during the course of this class.
We will cover setting up dies, resizing, decapping, priming, powder charging, bullet seating and crimp.
How to set a powder measure, use of a scale and calipers. We will then go out to the range and fire those loaded rounds.

 

 

Reloading Rifle 1

Prerequisites: Pistol Class 1
Cost $60.00 per student
Class duration: 3-4 hours
Supplies: All supplies provided in class.
Class size: 4

This is the beginning class for learning to load ammo for rifles both automatic and bolt action. The requirements for this class is the student must have completed the pistol class. Students successfully completing the pistol class are proficient in basic load data, use of scales, using caliper manipulations.

This class will cover the following:
Types of rifle cases and description of each.
Methods of cleaning and prepping cases.
Setting up the resizing dies.
How and why cases require trimming.
Types of problems that can occur with rifles cases.

Students will be guided in reloading rifle ammo, and then taken to the range to shoot his/her reloads.

 

Reloading Rifle 2

Prerequisites: Pistol Class 1
Cost $60.00 per student
Class duration: 3-4 hours
Supplies: All supplies provided in class.
Class size: 4

This class is for the advanced student who wishes to load ammo for his/her bolt action rifle.

The student must be familiar with reloading skills such as basic load data, use of scales, using caliper manipulations, and setting up dies on a loading press.

The student may choose to learn on the class provided 223/5.56 rifle, or bring his/her own rifle and ALL supplies which will include 50 pieces of brass cleaned and trimmed ready to load, along with powder, primer, bullets, and dies for that caliber.

The student will learn the method OF determining the OAL of the completed cartridge.

Student will learn the method for creating test loads to be used in finding the correct load for that gun and making of the loads.

When finished making the test loads, the student will fire the loads on the range to find the final result.

 

 

Private Lesson

Prerequisites: Pistol Class 1
Cost $60.00 per student per hour
Class duration: As required hours
Supplies: If the caliber is other than .223, .308, 30-06, the student will be required to provide 50 pieces of brass and dies one week in advance of the class.

Private lessons are one-on-one with an instructor to cover a specific topic based on your needs. If you need more instruction than provided in our classes above a private lesson is for you. If you cannot make a regularly scheduled class a private lesson is also an option. Private lessons are by appointment so reservations are to be made ahead of time. The most common time to schedule Private lessons is Monday through Friday 9-5pm.

 

 

Press Setup

Prerequisites: Pistol Class 1
Cost normal: $60.00 per caliber/hour
Class duration: 1-3 hours
Supplies: You must bring your own powder primers bullets and brass.
Class size: 1

Press setups are by appointment so reservations are to be made ahead of time. The most common time to schedule is Monday through Friday 9-5pm. Bring your own cases, bullets, powder, primers, and gun. We will set up your press, dies, and load you 10 rounds of ammo to test fire on our range.

 

 

Retread

Prerequisites: Pistol Class 1
Cost: $35.00 per student
Class duration: 3-4 hours

We offer this option for people who have taken one of H&H’s reloading classs before. This is an excellent way to get a refresher course for a reduced price. The course is the same as any class above.

Changing from Large to small primer bar.

 

 

XL650 Class
Prerequisites: Pistol Class 1
Cost: $60.00
Class duration: 1-2 hours
Supplies: You must bring your own powder primers bullets and brass.
Class size: 2-3

We will cover in this class:
Doing a cailber conversion.
Changing the primer system from large to small.
How to replace a broken indexing ring.
Tips and tricks
